DSA Application Process
Application & Selection Process
All applicants must be eligible for Secondary One admission in 2024.
Application for DSA-Sec can be submitted through the online DSA-Sec Portal. The application is free-of-charge and will be open from 7 May 2023 (11am) to 3 Jun 2023. For more details, please refer to MOE website – www.moe.gov.sg/dsa-sec.

Parents and students are encouraged to choose schools wisely based on the student’s aptitudes and strengths, bearing in mind the schools’ academic and non-academic requirements, and the programmes available to develop the area of talent.
Students who are successfully admitted to the school via DSA are expected to honour their commitment to the school, and participate in the activities related to the talent they are selected for from year 1-4.
For International Students
All international students who are not currently studying in MOE mainstream primary schools and considering DSA-Sec admission are required to take part in the Admissions Exercise for International Students (AEIS). For details, please refer to the AEIS website at - https://www.moe.gov.sg/international-students/aeis
For Other Applicants
Applicants who are not currently studying in MOE mainstream primary schools should apply online for a Registration Number from 4 May 2023 (9am) to 31 May 2023 (3pm). This is done using an online form via MOE DSA Website. Parents/ guardians whose child/ ward is from MOE mainstream primary school, who are unable to apply online, can approach their child’s/ ward’s primary school for assistance.
Returning Singaporeans and International Students applying to Jurong Secondary School will have to sit for a JSS Placement Test.
Other information:
1 | There is no need to submit any supporting documents during the online application stage. Your child’s primary school records (for example, P5 and P6 academic results, and other information from P4 to P6, i.e. CCA, school-based activities, achievements or awards) will be automatically shared with the schools. You may provide information for up to 10 non-school based activities and achievements which are related to your child’s chosen talent areas. | |
2 | An applicant can indicate up to 3 choices. Each choice consists of a secondary school and a talent area offered by the secondary school. Of the 3 choices, an applicant may use a maximum of 2 choices to apply to the same school, for two different talent areas of that school. | |
3 | The following supporting documents may have to be provided – • Certified true copies or documentary proof of non-school based activities and achievements. • Certified true copies of school academic results and activities / achievements for applicants NOT studying in MOE mainstream schools. |

4 | Notification of outcome by school (By 9 September 2023) - Applicants will be notified of the outcomes by 11 September 2023. The school’s decision is final. The school reserves the right not to release the reasons for non-selection of applicants. |

5 | School Preference Submission (21 October 2023 to 25 October 2023) – All applicants with a Confirmed Offer (CO), or who are on the Waiting List (WL) of a school, will be issued a School Preference Form via email. The form will include instructions on how to submit your child’s preferences. |

6 | Fill out the School Preference Form with your child, listing a maximum of 3 schools in order of preference. Parents can submit their child’s school preference(s) either electronically via the DSA-Sec Portal or physically at their child’s primary school. Students should consider carefully before opting for the DSA schools. Students can only amend or withdraw their submitted school preferences before the end of this stage. Any amendment or withdrawal from the exercise will not be allowed after this stage. | |
7 | Successful DSA-Sec applicant will receive their results on the school they are allocated to, via their primary schools, on the day they receive their PSLE results |
